$contact can determine what is type of contact in your setting. This function should be use with $xd.

Format

$contact
type_contact1
type_contact2
...
type_contactn

Parameter explanation

  • type : 21 is Gate, 3 is source, 4 is drain. 99 is for fix thermal boundary, 98 is thermal diffusive boundary

Example

$contact
3
21
4
$xd
-0.0001 19.9999
25.0000 38.0000
50.0001 70.0000

This function should be used with $xd.

21 is the gate contact. It comes with the setting of Schottky barrier setting $Schottky and gate bias setting $gatebias. If the electron affinity is used, user will need to setup $gatewithworkfunc instead of using $Schottky
3 is for the source contact. The program will find the barrier of contact with the doping setting.
4 is for the drain contact. The program will find the barrier of contact with the doping setting.
7 is no contact. Actually this is redundent. But some time it goes with some advance settings.
9 is for thermal contact. 99 is fixed boundary setting. Where the contact area is set as constant temperature. 98 is for thermal diffusive boundary condtions.
